Polyester Woven Filter Fiber Cloth

Polyester Woven Filter Fiber Cloth Oveview

Polyester woven filter cloth is a synthetic filtration fabric made from high-strength polyester (PET) yarns, woven into stable cloth media suitable for industrial solid–liquid separation and slurry dewatering. Unlike non-woven or needled felts, woven cloth delivers a controlled pore structure, predictable filtration performance and excellent mechanical strength — ideal for filter presses, belt filters, drum filters, vacuum filters and other industrial filtration equipment.

Key Features – Why Polyester?

  • Excellent chemical resistance, including resistance to many acids and weak alkalis,
suitable for a variety of industrial process liquids.
  • Good mechanical strength and wear resistance, giving long service life under repetitive loading.
  • High temperature tolerance — continuous operation up to ~150 °C (302 °F) and even higher
for peak conditions, depending on weave and finishing.
  • Hydrophobic or water-repellent (depending on finishing), helping with dewatering and
cake discharge; suitable for slurry and wastewater dewatering.
  • Customizable — different weave patterns (plain, twill, satin), weights, finishes and
cloth dimensions to meet varied process demands.

Polyester Woven Filter Cloth Key Features

01
High Mechanical Strength & Dimensional Stability

Woven polyester yarns provide excellent tensile strength and minimal stretch, ensuring stable performance in filter presses, belt filters, vacuum filters, and other solid–liquid separation equipment.

02
Accurate Filtration & Consistent Pore Size

The woven structure ensures uniform pore openings, delivering predictable filtration efficiency, repeatability, and consistent cake formation across operating cycles.

03
Chemical Resistance to Acids & Process Liquids

Polyester offers strong resistance to many acids, oxidants, and industrial processing chemicals, making it suitable for wastewater treatment, mining slurry, chemical plants, and food processing.

04
High Temperature Resistance (Up to 150°C)

Polyester woven cloth handles continuous operating temperatures up to ~150°C (302°F), maintaining stability in thermal drying systems, hot slurry filtration, and high-temperature liquid processes.

05
Excellent Cake Release & Dewatering Efficiency

Depending on finishing treatments, polyester can remain hydrophobic, allowing faster dewatering, easier cake discharge, and improved filtration cycle efficiency.

06
Cost-Effective Filtration Media

Compared with high-temperature or specialty polymers, polyester provides an excellent balance of cost and durability—suitable for large-scale filtration systems with budget constraints.

Pre-Project Technical Evaluation

  • Process-liquid assessment focused on polyester-compatible conditions, including viscosity, temperature stability up to 150 °C, and mechanical shear behavior in filter presses or belt filters.
  • Analysis of target particle size and required filtration precision; polyester woven cloth typically supports 5–150 μm separation depending on weave (plain, twill, satin).
  • Chemical compatibility evaluation for weak acids, organic solvents, oils, and neutral-to-weak-alkaline liquids, noting polyester’s sensitivity to strong alkalis.
  • Selection of appropriate weave structure—plain for stable filtration, twill for improved cake release, satin for smoother surface and lower resistance.

Custom Engineering Solutions

  • Customizable weave structures for polyester cloth, including plain, twill, and satin weaves to balance strength, permeability, and cake release behavior.
  • Adjustable technical parameters such as micron rating, yarn diameter, yarn count, mesh opening, and air permeability tailored to filtration needs.
  • Material configuration options using high-tenacity polyester monofilament, multifilament, or blended PET designs for enhanced durability or filtration accuracy.
  • Surface finishing enhancements including heat-setting for dimensional stability, calendaring for smoothness, hydrophobic or oleophobic treatments for improved dewatering, and anti-static finishing for powder-based processes.

Quality Assurance & Testing

  • Micron-rating verification using optical or digital mesh measurement systems to ensure accurate and consistent pore openings across the entire cloth surface.
  • Flow-rate and pressure-drop testing under standardized liquid conditions to evaluate performance in filter presses, belt filters, and vacuum filtration processes.
  • Tensile-strength and elongation testing of both warp and weft directions, confirming polyester’s ability to withstand high tension and continuous mechanical loading.
  • Abrasion resistance and wear testing to measure durability against scraper blades, rollers, slurry friction, and repetitive mechanical stress.
