PTFE(Teflon) Filter Bags

PTFE Dust Filter Bag Overview

PTFE dust filter bags—often known in the market as Teflon® filter bags—represent the highest tier of performance in industrial filtration. They are chosen for processes where temperatures, chemistry, or moisture levels exceed the limits of any other filter media. Unlike polyester, PPS, aramid, or even fiberglass, pure PTFE felt maintains its mechanical strength and surface stability even in extremely harsh environments.

PTFE fibres have an exceptionally low surface energy, which makes them naturally non-stick. In real baghouse operation this translates into cleaner bags, lower residual dust on the surface, and far more stable pressure drop during high-load periods. Plants running corrosive flue gas, high humidity, or highly variable operating windows rely on PTFE because it simply does not degrade the way other materials do.

  • Temperature window: Continuous operation up to 240 °C, with temperature peaks around 260 °C, even in the presence of moisture, acid fumes, and chemically aggressive gases.
  • Media: Pure PTFE needle-punched felt; optional PTFE membrane-laminated felt for ultra-low emissions and faster cleaning cycles.
  • Mechanical behaviour: Excellent crease resistance, dimensional stability, and extremely low shrinkage even under long-term high-temperature cycling.
  • Gas chemistry: Completely inert to acidic, alkaline, and oxidizing conditions; ideal for moist or chemically unstable gas streams where other felts rapidly degrade.
  • Typical use:Waste incinerators | Chemical processing | Carbon black & pigments | Fertilizer | Non-ferrous metals | High-sulfur or high-humidity flue gas | Any process requiring compliance with ultra-low emission standards.

Key Performance Benefits

01
Ultra-Stable Filtration Efficiency

Pure PTFE felt maintains a smooth, low-energy fibre surface that resists dust adhesion. This allows the dust cake to form evenly and release cleanly during pulsing, resulting in consistent emissions and predictable pressure drop even when gas chemistry fluctuates.

02
True High-Temperature Confidence

Where aramid or PPS would begin to weaken, PTFE stays in its comfort zone. In processes running between 200 and 240 °C—especially those with moisture spikes—PTFE provides unmatched thermal stability and maintains its mechanical strength far longer than other industrial felts.

03
Full Chemical Inertness

PTFE is the only mainstream filter media that is effectively immune to acids, alkalis, solvents, and corrosive gas components. This resistance makes it ideal for waste incineration, chemical reactors, fertilizer production, and carbon black plants where flue gas chemistry can change from hour to hour.

04
Lowest Pressure Drop in Harsh Conditions

Because PTFE fibres do not bind dust, the residual layer left after pulsing is extremely thin. This reduces fan load, improves airflow uniformity, and helps operators maintain stable production rates, even with high dust loading or variable humidity.

05
Longest Service Lifetime

In real-world plants, PTFE bags often run for multiple years, even in gas streams that quickly destroy other filter materials. Reduced change-outs mean less downtime, lower labour intensity around the baghouse, and more predictable performance planning.

06
Omela Engineering Behind Every Bag

Each PTFE bag we manufacture is matched to the cage design, air-to-cloth ratio, chemical exposure profile, and cleaning system of the actual baghouse. Every production batch is checked for weight, permeability, membrane integrity, and seam strength—ensuring what arrives on site is tuned for your process, not simply “a PTFE bag.”

Delivering Extreme-Temperature, Corrosion-Resistant Filtration Through Expertise and Pure PTFE Media

260 °C
High Temperature & Chemical Resistance

Pure PTFE filter bags handle continuous service close to 240 °C with peaks around 260 °C, while the fluoropolymer fibre structure resists acid dew point, strong alkalis and aggressive solvent vapours in harsh flue gas.

INDUSTRIAL
APPLICATIONS

From waste incineration and chemical processing to high-temperature mineral kilns, PTFE filter bags offer consistent emissions control in any application involving corrosive, high-acid or high-alkali flue gases.

Waste Incineration

Waste Incineration

Incinerators expose filter media to some of the harshest gas conditions: acidic vapours, corrosive compounds, temperature swings, and variable moisture. PTFE’s chemical inertness and stable surface performance keep emissions within strict limits year-round.

Carbon Black & Pigments

Carbon Black & Pigments

Fine powder, high temperatures, and abrasive particles demand a felt with both stability and release properties. PTFE bags maintain low pressure drop and minimise carryover, essential for product recovery and stack compliance.

Chemical & Petrochemical Processing

Chemical & Petrochemical Processing

Reactors, dryers, and chemical handling systems generate fumes that degrade most textiles. PTFE withstands acids, solvents, and oxidizers without losing strength, helping baghouses remain reliable between scheduled shutdowns.
