Polypropylene Needle-Punched Felt (PP Felt)
Polypropylene (PP) needle-punched felt is a lightweight, hydrophobic, chemically inert non-woven filter media manufactured from 100% polypropylene staple fibers. Through a high-density needle-punching process, the fibers are mechanically entangled into a uniform, porous, three-dimensional structure that provides stable permeability, low resistance, and strong chemical durability.
Its excellent resistance to moisture, acids, alkalis, and organic solvents makes PP felt a preferred choice for liquid-solid separation, wet dust filtration, wastewater treatment, and general low-temperature industrial filtration applications. Polypropylene felt is widely used in industries where high humidity or corrosive liquids would quickly damage polyester or other temperature-sensitive media.
Key Material Profile
- Material: 100% polypropylene staple fiber, needle-punched
- Temperature Rating: Continuous 80–90 °C; short peaks up to 100–110 °C
- Chemical Resistance: Excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, salts, and many solvents
- Moisture Tolerance: Hydrophobic fiber structure—ideal for humid or liquid filtration
- Filtration Structure: Open-porous, low-density matrix enabling stable airflow and low pressure drop
- Mechanical Properties: Lightweight, flexible, corrosion-proof, and easy to handle
- Applications: Liquid filtration, sludge dewatering, chemical processing, food & grain handling, dust collection in low-temperature environments
PP felt is especially suitable for systems where chemical compatibility, moisture resistance, and cost-effectiveness matter more than high-temperature stability.
